Why I Switched to Squarespace for Blogging

Everywhere I look, bloggers are saying that WordPress is the place to be if you’re serious about blogging and making money. So, when I started out as a new blogger, WordPress is where I went…but not for long.  Talk about confusion and being completely overwhelmed! I sat there and wondered how in the world other bloggers did this. Blank screens full of coding that I didn’t understand was a nightmare for me. I was determined to find a better way, and that’s when I came across Squarespace.

There were a few things that played a role in my decision to switch my focus over to Squarespace.

  1.  I don’t know how to code. Now, this isn’t a huge deal if you have the time to learn WordPress and they do have beautiful themes that you can use, but part of my issue was the amount of time it would take me to create my site, and also go in and make changes quickly and easily whenever I wanted to. There were also features that I knew I wanted to have on my site, that I had no clue how to do in WordPress.

  2. I knew exactly what my costs would be up front with Squarespace. Their prices are very straightforward and clear. They do have some extra features that you can upgrade to, but it’s not necessary and I still found them to be extremely reasonable for what I was getting. I also love that Squarespace allows you to pay monthly or annually, so it can truly fit just about any budget. You can check out their pricing plans here.

  3. They have incredible features for users that are all in one platform. Want to send out an email campaign right from your website? Done. Want to send out a customized thank you after purchases? Done. Or maybe you want to offer PayPal or payment plans for your products, such as Afterpay? Done! Seriously, they’ve come such a long way and I can’t rave enough about using this platform for blogging or as a storefront, or whatever else you might want it for.

  4. Another thing that drew me to Squarespace is that I have several friends that have their sites hosted there and they all have such a beautiful and clean look to them. They look like a professional built them from scratch, and that’s what I wanted. It was so much fun going in to play around with different themes and creating my entire site in just a few days before I had to hit publish. And making changes is quick and simple.

5. I can host a storefront, blog, digital products, and courses all in one place. Are you a course or digital product creator?  Or maybe you have physical products that you want to set up a storefront for? Great! This too, is super easy to do right on Squarespace. As you can see, they even have Printful and Printique already connected right on your website for you so that you can sign up right from your site, and start creating products (such as t-shirts for example) and poof, you’re in business. You can literally build a site in a few days and be making money by end of the week.
